Apart from reporting activities to celebrate the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Ha Noi, the web site also provides detailed information about the capital's history, geography, administration, culture, artisans, craft villages and gastronomy. It also provides useful details about entertainment venues, tourist sites, hotels and entrepreneurs for the benefit of both tourists and companies seeking business opportunities in Ha Noi. "The website, with the unique distinction of being in four languages, will help provide timely information for both domestic and foreign readers," said Ha Noi People's Committee deputy chairwoman Ngo Thi Thanh Hang. This would help promote Viet Nam's international image and improve its status, she said. VNA deputy general director Nguyen Duc Loi said publishing in four languages would make an important contribution to the goal of "attaching importance to news for foreign services" as part of the effort to promote the millennium celebration.
